SunJamma is an international live band based in Ghana, bringing together professional musicians from Ghana and Jamaica whose combined careers span more than 120 years of live performance experience across Africa, Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, the United States, and international cruise ships.

The band delivers a powerful and versatile live show that blends the musical energy of Africa with the groove and soul of the Caribbean. Their performances combine Afrobeat, Highlife, Reggae, Soul, Funk, Jazz, R&B, Latin, Pop, and international dance music into a seamless and high-energy experience designed for global audiences.

SunJamma is built on a foundation of professionalism, musical depth, and real-world international performance experience. The members have performed in clubs, luxury hotels, festivals, concert venues, cultural events, and cruise ship entertainment circuits across multiple continents. This background gives the band a strong ability to adapt to different audiences, venues, and cultural expectations while maintaining a consistent high standard of live performance.

Collectively, the band members have performed in Ghana, Jamaica, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Japan, the United States, and aboard international cruise ships, and have shared stages or worked with respected artists including Monty Alexander, Ziggy Marley, Shabba Ranks, Toots and the Maytals, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, Dela Botri, Kwabena Kwabena, A.B. Crentsil, and Jewel Ackah.

SunJamma is known for its ability to read an audience and deliver the right atmosphere at every stage of an event. Whether performing elegant background music, vibrant live entertainment, or full dance-floor energy shows, the band maintains a consistent focus on quality musicianship, strong vocals, and engaging live interaction.

Stage Requirements

  • Stage Footprint: Minimum 5m (width) x 4m (depth). Level, stable, and completely dry.
  • Power Supply: 4x independent 220V AC outlet lines on stage (Drums, Keyboards stage left, Guitar/Bass stage right).
  • Lighting: Clean wash lighting with front spotlights for Lead Vocals. Standard concert moving heads preferred.
  • PA System: High-quality active PA system (e.g., L-Acoustics, d&b, QSC) capable of delivering clean, undistorted sound across the entire venue (98dB continuous).

Monitoring & FOH

  • FOH Engineer: Venue is to provide a competent Front of House sound engineer who is fully familiar with the venue's PA system.
  • Wedge Monitors: Minimum 4x independent wedge monitor feeds (5x wedges total - 2 on Lead Vocals).
  • Talkback: A talkback mic from FOH to stage monitor desk/wedges is highly appreciated.
